2026 CSA

Community Supported Agriculture doesn’t have to be complicated.

Our CSA lets you support a local family farm and choose the food your family actually eats.

How it works

In just three simple steps, you can eat seasonal food grown with care and intention.

1. Become a member

You invest in your CSA membership while it’s still cold outside, allowing us to plan and grow for the season ahead.

The CSA season runs June through October.

2. Choose what you want

Each week, members receive an email with what’s available from the farm.

You’ll visit our online store to reserve what you want and leave what you don’t.

3. Pick up on the farm

Thursdays are pickup days at the farm, from 3–7pm.

Many members stay awhile, kids play, conversations happen, and the farm becomes a place of connection!

Your investment

Mix and match different CSA options to find the perfect fit for your family.  Or, give a share to those in need.

Frequently asked questions

What is CSA?
  • CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. This means that the consumer joins hands with the farmer and assumes some of the risk and responsibility of agriculture. On our farm, this means that our customers buy a CSA share in January or February for the year, enabling us to buy seed and materials for the season in advance, and knowing how much food we are to produce, and then the customers are able to come out to the farm in June-October to pick up produce, eggs, and meat as a return for their investment.
What is a customizable, take-what-you'll-use CSA?
  • Our Vegetable CSA membership is a
a customizable, take-what-you'll-use model meaning that you have full customization over what you get each week.  Customizable means that instead of us dividing the harvest equally among CSA members regardless of if you will use it, you can choose the quantity and combinations of produce you'd like.
Take-what-you'll-use can be thought of like a gym membership, you pay regardless of how much you use it but the more you show up the better results you'll get.  We will ensure there is equal chance for all members to order what they'd like and extras will be available on pick up night for members to take.
Does a customizable, take-what-you'll-use really mean we can take absolutely anything?
  • Take-what-you'll-use means you choose what you want to take each week. Inherently, there may be times of limitation and times of great abundance, as is the nature of life, crops, and seasonality. We are asking you to share in the farm’s bounty with multiple individuals and families. We share in peak season enough for preserving: canning, fermenting, pickling, freezing, and drying for the less abundant times.
What are the risks of CSA?
  • A CSA farm doesn't operate like a grocery store. It takes months of planning and preparation to produce a crop. Your investment in the farm is non-refundable, so if you invest $500, and find you don’t want the products that are being grown on the farm that particular year, you will have to find options from what we have available to use the funds or be content investing in local agriculture. Some years, crops like kale, tomatoes and herbs may flourish, while crops like carrots and broccoli may struggle. In the CSA model, you are choosing to support the farm and pick from what it is able to grow for that particular year.  See our Member Handbook for full details.
What happens if I miss a week?
  • We will miss you for that week! Other than that, nothing.  As part of a free-choice, unlimited access veggie CSA you don't have to worry about missing a week here or there.  Think of it like a gym membership, you pay regardless of how much you use it but the more you show up the better results you'll get.
  • If you are a part of the Meat CSA you are responsible for spending down your balance, like a gift card, before the end of the season.  Please let us know if you'll be out of town.
What are your growing practices?
  • You can read more about our practices on our About page but in general we are committed to growing without chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicide.  We don't use anything that we wouldn't feel comfortable feeding our own children.
What do you feed your chickens?
  • Both our layer chickens and our broiler (meat) chickens have access to fresh pasture each day. This means they are able to scratch through fresh grass and greens and find bugs and vegetation to enjoy. We supplement the remainder of their nutritional needs with feed from Cashton Farm Supply, an organic feed supplier from Wisconsin.
How are your chickens packaged?
  • Currently, we sell our meat chickens whole. If you’re new to cooking with whole chicken, check out our blog for some tips to help you get started.

Want to get your hands dirty in exchange for your CSA?

We're looking for some folks to join us a few hours a week in exchange for our Vegetable CSA.  Our Worker Shares operate just like our regular Vegetable CSA but instead of paying for your share, you'll be coming out to the farm a few hours a week to weed, plant, harvest, and other duties.

If you're interested, send us an email at info@vineandvirtuefarm.com with "Worker Share" in the subject line.

Questions? Connect with us, we're happy to help.
